Feeling too OLD!

Just now I am browsing through the carmelian.ning page, it's been a while since I changed my picture, added some photos and updated my profile. Also, there are so much changes in our very own school network, with growing number of members, some advertisements, updated discussions and blog posts of our fellow carmelians and so on and so forth. As I was going through the page, a very clear question popped into my head "am I getting old or am I already old?". For a moment, I was stunned as I continuously look at the faces of the new members they were teenagers on my own judgment, with very sweet and young smile, full of fun, excitement, energy and ambition. Then, I realized that I was once like them not too long to forget but long enough to miss my crowd, my friends and my highschool activities.
During those days, I never wanted to live the life that I had, Carmel has become my comfort zone. Perhaps, not only me and perhaps that is one good reason why we cried when we graduated even if we'd like to move away from difficult subjects such as mathematics and physics and sometimes angry teachers (smile).
Voila, it's been 7 years since I left Carmel, it's as if yesterday that I cried, I promised to meet my classmates often and to start a new beginning in College. Now, I am almost two years here at work, away from home and far from my dearest friends. Often times, I envy them with their pictures looking like the way they used to, doing same old things that we all enjoyed (yup, inoman na nga 'yon). But, I just tell myself "malapit na bakasyon ko" and somehow I can be with them.
Few days from now another batch will be graduating, I know that they will absolutely feel the same way as I did, but just a short advice -from someone who's getting old, in life there's such thing as choices either to go left or right, move up or down or walk backwards or far and beyond, everything depends on you alone. It is but proper to keep your feet on the ground but don't make it a reason not to fly and reach up high. Your friends will always be there at your back, side, front or wherever, as you are to them try to influence each other in good and positive way. ---This is for my brother Mark Elvin M. Castanos, CONGRATULATIONS and good luck to all your endeavors in life! We love you and you know that :)

@unice.. feeling too old? youre not alone. but look at the bright side, we envy the smiles of present carmelian students, its a good sign that we do miss the good times with our alma matter. its terrible if you dont.

hello eunice...
it has been a long while. we haven't communicated for years... reading your post, i recalled the days when you were still in carmel. being the sweet lass that you were.. or should i say that you are (old age is a state of mind), i have always admired your sincerity to your friends... your passion for growth... your humility and of course your talents... i am proud of you.. keep on soaring to greater heights.
on a lighter note... if you think you are old.. then what about me?... should i feel like i am a relic or an artifact?
